Avocados may be the best superfood out there. They are rich in healthy fats, which are good for your brain and skin, a great source of complex carbohydrates to help with energy and also high in fiber to help maintain a healthy gut microbe balance.
I love this sauce since you can use it as a salad dressing, as a topping for chicken or fish dishes or as a dip for your favorite snack.
Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon sea salt
- 1/2 teaspoon fresh cracked pepper
- 4 organic avocados
- 1/4 cup Nutritional Yeast
- 1/4 cup organic lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon organic lemon zest (microplanes work best for this)
- 1 teaspoon organic onion powder
- 1 teaspoon organic garlic powder or 2 cloves fresh garlic, chopped
- 1/4 cup chopped organic Parsley, for garnish
Directions:
Place all ingredients in food processor and pulse until fully pureed.
If you prefer a chunkier sauce, pulse for less time, for a finer sauce continue pulsing until completely smooth.
This sauce can be used as a dip for veggies or put over zucchini or kelp noodles.
Makes 8 servings.
