A chronic illness can create a sedentary lifestyle, which can later become osteoporosis and create a devastating fracture. The great news is that even those with low activity levels have options to improve their bone quality.
Margie Bissinger, PT, joined us on Resilient Health Radio to talk about building better, more resilient bones. We also talk more about a better way to test for osteoporosis, exercises to build bone, and more on which supplements are ideal past age 50.
What I love about these summits is that you really get to hear the specifics to the topic of your choice. Margie’s MORE Natural Approaches to Osteoporosis and Bone Health 2.0 summit includes some of these insights…
- “If your calcium level is above 10.0 – you need to look into if you have parathyroid disease” – Deva Boone, MD
- If you have acid reflux, and are on a proton-pump inhibitor, there’s actually 350% chance John Neustadt, ND
- If your blood sugar this morning is 98 and tomorrow morning it’s 91, it probably didn’t have that much to do with what you ate in that span. It has more to do with your overall metabolic health.” – Dr. Brian Mowll
Often when you’re put on an osteoporosis medication, it will build bone density but not build bone quality- so your risk of fracture is almost identical.
Fractures are completely preventable with the proper tools. I hope you’ll consider attending the summit to build not only bone density but bone quality.
